I’ll be skating in goal for Evolution on the weekend of January 21st as we compete in the 13th Annual Face Off Against Breast Cancer Tournament in Middlebury. Twelve Women’s teams from all over Vermont will compete in three divisions. The proceeds from this fundraiser tournament benefit the Cancer Patient Support Program (http://www.cpspvt.org/). The program helps families undergoing the stresses involved in cancer treatment with many levels of support, both financial and counseling.
If you would like to join me in this effort, please visit:
http://www.faceoffagainstbreastcancer.org/ and click on the Donate button. Find my name in the list of players, and my team, Evolution in the Competitive division. If you’d rather donate to the cause with a check or cash, you can bring your donation to me.
Evolution is hoping to raise twice as much as the other teams as one of our teammates is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and has continued to skate through her chemo treatments. Our competition is as much in dollars raised as goals so when you donate, I’d appreciate it if you’d email me because the donation system isn’t set up to let us know (it would have cost the organizers a lot more to add that feature and its better that the money to go towards the cause).
We all know someone who has undergone cancer treatment or is currently undergoing it and the impact it has on their families. I hope you can join me in lending a helping hand.
