Family/School Partnership – “All our Voices Survey”

February 2, 2012

The EES Family/School Partnership is working to develop a survey with the help of UVM Prof. James Sinkula and three Marketing students in order to learn more about our families and what we as a school can do to serve our community in the most inclusive way possible. The survey will be given during the week of Feb. 20th. Please mark Feb. 22 on your calendar from 7:30 to 8:10 for a special time to fill out and/or turn in your survey. Please keep reading the Monday Memos for additional information about this event.

In order to help get as much representation as possible, we are going to be raffling some fun and practical incentives. The names of those who complete the surveys will be entered in the raffle for one of the raffle prizes. Those incentives would include things like gift certificates at grocery stores, for gas, and other useful things for parents. We have benefited greatly in the past by parents with connections to businesses assisting us. For example, the EES PTO was able to conduct a very successful fundraiser thanks to the generous support of the Cunningham family with Dan’s Chocolates. Should you have a business connection that could provide an incentive for this effort, please contact me ( or 864-1791 or Claudia Renchy Morton at

Also there will be one Bridges game from each grade level. Prizes, desserts and drinks too! We also have 10 National Honor Society students from BHS to help facilitate games so that parents can fully enjoy the night with their child/ren. RSVP by returning the bottom portion of the flyer that went home today or send an email ( include your child’s name, grade level and number of people attending. For those of you new to Math Night, here is how the night will work.

5:00 – 5:30 pm: Pizza and drinks will be served in the lower gym.

5:30 – 7:00 pm: Students will enter the cafeteria and be given a Math Night ticket that has 6 empty circles. As your child completes an activity at a table, you will write that table number in one of the empty circles. When your child has filled all of the circles, put the ticket into the bag at the prize table in order to enter to win one of the games that will be raffled off at the end of the night. Of course, you can continue on to other games after your card has been filled! Each student will go home with a set of dominoes and a packet full of games you can play at home. We are also looking for donations of math related games (Uno, Chutes and Ladders, Yahtzee, Phase 10, Dominoes, Set, Sequence, Chess, etc) for the raffle at the end of the night; and veggies and dip to serve along with the pizza, as well as desserts too.

We are also looking for a few parents to help set up that night, someone to pick up the pizza from Leonardos, and several parents to help serve pizza. Please contact Sandy Flemer at 862-5853 or if you are able to contribute. We hope to see you all there!
