We want to let you know about several upcoming events in our community surrounding the new exhibit, “Race: Are We So Different?”, at ECHO: Lake Aquarium and Science Center. Given recent conversations in our city and within the Burlington School District about diversity and equity, we think the ECHO exhibit is a great opportunity to educate ourselves further about race, ethnicity and class. We hope that many of you will attend some of the events advertised on the reverse, and that we can have our own discussions at Edmunds regarding these issue. We would also like for our children to be part of these important conversations.
We will schedule conversations for the EES Community to have these discussions. Stay tuned.
To find out more about more community events at Fletcher Free Library and ECHO, please visit http://www.echovermont.org/exhibits/race/events.html. The Fletcher Free Library also has $4 passes to ECHO if you sign up ahead of time (and have a library card). The CCTA bus, the College Street shuttle, is free and goes right down to ECHO (and back up the hill). There are also free events at Champlain College and UVM listed.
Thank you for engaging,
EES PTO Leaders, Peggy O’Neill-Vivanco and Signe Daly
