Seeking Mayfair Silent Auction Donations
Though Spring feels a lifetime away right now, it will come, and with it, our beloved Mayfair celebration! We are beginning to gather names of potential donors for the Mayfair Silent Auction. Are you a local business owner? Do you have a favorite business, artist or crafter you might recommend for us to solicit donations or that you yourself could ask? We need your help to make this year’s auction extra exciting. Donations can be in the form of gift cards or merchandise. With many schools and charitable organizations seeking donations, any personal connections would be super helpful. Please email Stacey Kelleher at staceyhk1568 with your suggestions and to let us know if you might be available to help with the Silent Auction.

Change of date of Fine Arts night for grades 3-5.

The 3-5 Fine Arts Night show has been moved to Wednesday, February 13th

5:45 Art Show in the first floor hallway 6:20 Doors Open for the Concert 6:30 Concert begins in the middle school gymnasium

Every 3-5 grader has a role to play! We hope to see you there!

And finally…

Please consider stepping forward to be a PTO leader next year. We will be down to one PTO leader next year, and if two more people do not step up to these roles, the function that the PTO plays at Edmunds will have to be greatly diminished. If you are considering it, but do not think you are qualified, or have enough time, or think you are the PTO type, or whatever the conversation may be, please know that everyone has the same kinds of concerns. It isn’t that much work. It makes a huge difference in our community. You can do it!

Mulan rehearsals are humming along and our talented children are working hard and having fun. Parent volunteers will be needed to put costumes together. This is a great volunteer opportunity for many as it does not require that you attend an event during the work day. Costumes can be assembled at home. Genevieve and the children need our support to get the costumes together. Gen will be contacting parents and guardians of Mulan performers to coordinate costumes soon.

Volunteers needed! PTO news

January 23, 2019

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” Martin Luther King Jr.
As parents and guardians, we are all weighed down with responsibilities and worries for our families. Often, when we are asked to volunteer, we feel pushed beyond our comfort zones. With the strength and courage of MLK fresh in our minds and hearts this week, let’s think of what we can do as a community to support each other and create a world more like the one he envisioned. If you were unable to do your day of service on Monday because of the weather, we have some excellent service opportunities coming up. Maybe you don’t see yourself as the volunteering type. Just consider what you might have to give, and what you might stand to gain from putting yourself out there to help.
“Not everybody can be famous but everybody can be great, because greatness is determined by service.” -MLK

Hi all!

Is one of your resolutions to be more involved in Edmunds Elementary PTO? We have a great opportunity for you if so. Next year we will be losing two of our PTO leaders—Jenny and Pam’s kiddos will be moving on to middle school. That leaves two openings for new leadership. If you feel even the slightest tingle of excitement at the prospect of taking on one of these roles, contact me, Stacey Kelleher, at this email address and we can chat. It would be ideal to have some people lined up to shadow Jenny, Pam and me for the rest of the year so that we can all be familiar with the expectations of the jobs.
