Drama

sketch monopodsThank you to all the performers, families, community members, staff and teachers, and Don Wright and his Very Merry Theater crew for supporting the arts in our community.   Our children are the future of this rich tradition of drama at our school.  Very Merry Theatre’s school productions are an exciting way for children to participate in original adaptions of plays and musicals.  To learn more about what Very Merry Theatre, the creative force behind EES drama, is up to and what they’re offering local kids in the performing arts, click here.

2017 play is SHREK!  Performances will be March 16, 17, & 18!

We are looking forward to this year’s production.  For this show to be successful, please know that this is an after-school activity that requires a commitment of time and energy from YOU, your CHILD and EVERYONE involved.

All students who make the commitment to be a part of the play must attend all rehearsals. Please take the time to look at the schedules below to be sure your child is able to fully commit to the play.

The play’s success also relies on parent volunteers for all sorts of tasks. Every parent/guardian of a 3,4,5th grade student is required to offer support to the production in some way to ensure a fair balance of volunteerism. Thank you in advance!  Sign up early for best selection! SHREK Parent Sign up Genius  We need EVERY Family involved to pitch in and help out.

Therefore we ask each child to pay a $50 fee per student/$80 maximum per family to help pay for the costs.  This fee pays our Very Merry Theatre personnel and production costs like set pieces, paint, props, wardrobe supplies, audio equipment, make up as well as after school snacks. Playbill sales, bake sales and donations help pay our playbill printing cost, licensing fees and more.

No child will be turned away if s/he cannot contribute. Scholarships are available.
QUESTIONS/CONCERNS: Feel free to contact us. We are parent volunteers who are looking for your individual support.
